Mother Thrice Admirable by Luigi Crosio

Known as the Mother Thrice Admirable, Queen and Victress of Schoenstatt, this image is the icon of the Schoenstatt lay marian apostolic movement. It was originally painted as the Refuge of Sinners madonna by Luigi Crosio in 1898. It is a pointillist painting, composed of many small dots to form a cohesive whole. Mary is shown with a gentle expression, both hugging the child Jesus close to her heart while simultaneously offering Him to the viewer. 

Founded in Germany at the start of World War I by Fr. Kentenich, Schoenstatt. The Mother Thrice Admirable is placed at the center of each of the over 207 shrines across 110 countries. St. Pope John Paul II said to the Schoenstatt Family, "An authentic Marian spirituality leads to a deep love for the Church."
